Hotspots provide miles of wireless coverage to millions of devices around you using Helium LongFi, and you're rewarded with HNT. And thanks to an innovative proof-of-work model (we call it Proof-of-Coverage), your Hotspot consumes only 5 watts of power.

It is important that there is a free point at the installation site of your miner or with a minimum number of devices.
Also, the place of installation must not be blocked by foreign objects or publications.

The amount of HNT allocated to Hotspots depends on the type of "work" they do, based on the value of that work to the network. Such verification of the contribution to the network is carried out using a new algorithm called Proof-of-Coverage (PoC)

Hotspots earn HNT by creating and securing network infrastructure and transmitting device data

To participate in PoC, you need to place several Hotspots at a distance of at least 300 meters, but within reach of each other. Such a coating can be deployed for many kilometers, depending on the environment. Single Hotspots earn less because they are only able to issue Challenges over the Internet and cannot participate in Proof-of-Coverage. Distribution amounts will be adjusted after the first year
